Known for its iconic yellow limestone cottages and breathtaking natural beauty, the Cotswolds is an excellent destination for a peaceful holiday in the UK countryside. The vast majority of this picturesque location was declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as far back as 1966 and remains one of the largest protected areas in the UK to this day. The iconic rows of distinctly charming cottages have inspired many a magical story! In fact, Henry Ford (the founder of Ford Motors) was so enamoured with this lovely location that he purchased one of these iconic cottages, which was dismantled and reconstructed in Greenfield Village as part of the Henry Ford Museum. Home to J. K Rowling’s Womping Willow from Harry Potter, and the inspiration to J.R.R. Tolkien’s Door of Durin in Lord of the Rings, it’s no secret that the Cotswolds is a particularly magical place. Below, you’ll find our full collection of Cotswolds Holiday Cottages, carefully curated for your convenience.

More about the Cotswolds
Henry Ford and the beautiful Rose Cottage
Henry Ford was particularly fond of the Cotswolds. After frequenting this picturesque destination on many holidays, he was determined to take a piece of its country charm, to display halfway across the world in Greenfield Village – a historic site upon which he reconstructed historic buildings from around the world. At first, he was determined to purchase a full row of weavers’ cottages but settled for the beautiful Rose Cottage instead, after his initial plan was rejected by the local community. Henry Ford’s fondness for the Cotswolds is not hard to understand. This stunning destination is perfect for a peaceful countryside escape, and our large holiday cottages in the Cotswolds are the perfect way to experience it with all your loved ones.
