This venue was excellent. We had a brilliant time celebrating our friends 70th and Xmas. There is lots of room. We played games in the games room, had food at the large dining room. We had a karaoke, soundbath and a workout. We chilled on the comfy sofas. Cooked in the large kitchen. We all slept well in the cosy bedrooms. We got a minibus to Ashbourne and had a Xmas meal in Stepping stones the food was lovely. We ordered breakfast from the farm cafe. Wow what a luxury weekend we had a ball Thankyou

Recently stayed at Hamps Hall following a wedding. The Hall was very clean and welcoming. Originally dealt with Melissa who hosted us for a viewing answering all of our questions. The venue is set in lovely scenery in the Countryside of the Peak District. Plenty of space at the venue and very well equipped.

Roaches Hall was such a wonderful place to stay. There was excellent communication before our arrival which was very informative, helpful and friendly in nature. The house itself is phenomenal, it definitely has the wow factor when you arrive. As we stayed in December it had a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and charming decorations throughout the house which was lovely to see and it was clear that the hosts had gone to a lot of effort to make it look festive. The house itself was immaculately clean, cosy and, for such a large house, it was easy to keep warm. All the bedrooms were spotless and the beds were really comfy. The kitchen was also very well stocked and there was plenty of seating throughout the house, both in the dining area and lounge. The grounds were also a delight and lots of opportunities for great walks nearby. We would love to come for a return visit and would definitely recommend Roaches Hall as a place to stay.

It was a lovely place to stay and suited our party of 21 people. The barns are in a great setting, beautiful during the summer months, both were very well equipped. The hot tub was also enjoyed by our family. Would certainly recommend.

Fantastic house in a good location for walking and local pub. Spacious and plenty of equipment for cooking etc. Loads of cutlery, crockery, glasses and cups etc. Good games room. Plenty of room in the bedrooms and some with en-suite. Would definitely hire again if looking in that area again.

This was our fourth visit to Hamps Hall and Barn and yet again, it did not disappoint. A great venue for 34+ friends to get together - with walking options straight from the venue, local pubs nearby, facilities to allow everyone to eat and party together. We will be back!

We booked Roaches Hall for a 65th birthday house party for friends and family. We chose it because of its central geographical location, the configuration of the bedrooms and plentiful bathrooms, the provision of games and activities for younger people and its large entertaining spaces. Pre arrival information was ok, but an inventory of kitchen equipment would have been so useful. Catering for 30 people for 8 meals is quite a task. Not all my enquiries were answered satisfactorily. The track to the house is very rough and bumpy and doesn’t look like it leads to a stately home. Some warning would have been good. However the house itself is very good, if a little tired in places, and sadly has not been respectfully treated by past guests. It was clean. The beds were comfortable and the bed linens good. The house was warm enough but different zones for heating would have been useful. The lower ground floor was too hot, the wings not so good. The log burner was a real asset. Hot water was plentiful but took an age to come through. The kitchen is ok, although both dishwashers needed servicing. The kitchen isn’t a social space so those doing the cooking were a bit isolated. I’m glad we opted to take our own roasters and lasagne dishes in the end. We also took several slow cookers and some hot plates for serving, and a trestle table for the bar. The hot water urn was really useful. The house’s location is wonderful. We enjoyed some brilliant walks from the door and the autumn leaves were stunning. However a public footpath does pass through and so there were strangers wandering about which made us worry about the kids playing out. All in all I would recommend Roaches Hall.
