Looking to organise a stag do for your best friend? We have compiled a list of fantastic stag ideas for an unforgettable weekend with the guys. Whether you’re looking for a Party House in a big city or a rural retreat venue, we have a variety of stag venues to choose from.
1 – Get a brief from the stag
If you’re not the stag, make sure to get an idea of what he is looking for, perhaps he’s more interested in a calm stag party, or it’s been his dream to do a certain activity. This is the ideal time to make it happen!
2 – Get the guest list in order, choose a date and check guest food preferences
Before contacting everyone, make sure you have the key group of invitees and speak with the stag to make sure you know whom he wants to invite (the father of the bride?). Get everyone in a Whatsapp or Facebook group and decide on a date that suits you all best. It’s best to get a backup one as well – in case any venues or activities are booked up. Find out about any accessibility issues or food allergy requests.
3 – Choosing a venue
Lots of venues don’t like the idea of taking stag groups, so make sure to double check the snippet on the right-hand side of each venue which will provide you with the necessary information. Most of our Party Houses’ owners ask that you give them a call first before making the booking so that they can comfortably let you have your fun without being worried.
4 – Delegate the tasks
There’s no need to organise everything by yourself. Ask the other stags to help as well by delegating different tasks such as booking a caterer, an activity, a night out on the town…
5 – Don’t leave it late
At least once a day we get a call from a last-minute stag looking to hire a venue but finding out that unfortunately its already booked up. Make sure to plan well in advance!
6 – Hire a caterer for a night
Take a night off and let the caterer do the hard work. They come to your Party House, cook a stunning meal of your choosing, wait on and wash and clean up afterwards, and as you bring your own drink its even better value than a restaurant!
7 – Enjoy the countryside or city
We are finding stags are becoming more interested in unique country houses, as opposed to city breaks. The mixture of the stunning views, wide range of fun activities and being together in the glorious outdoors – it’s a great combination. Alternatively, we also have a number of city venues so feel free to give us a call if you need some help narrowing it down.
8 – Award-winning ale ready upon arrival
Nothing brings a smile to the face of your stag group like arriving at the venue to find a keg of local award-winning ale waiting for you. A perfect start to kick off the party! We recommended Wincle Beer who supply many of our stag groups now.
9 – Try a unique activity
Try something different from the usual stag parties, how about rock climbing, bouldering, shooting or even hang gliding.
10 – Let us help you with ideas
Like Party Houses, most venue owners will be more than happy to help advise on any questions regarding venue selection, or activities. Feel free to call so we can help you create a memorable stag party!
